Connecting a new Datasource
Connecting a new data source is easy when creating a new app. Graft offers a number of connectors, each has its own particular configuration, but all follow the same basic steps. You can find the specifics of each connection type in the Connection requirements section of the Apps documentation and linked later in this article.
The basic connection set up flow is as follows...
- Name your new connection
- Complete connection specific fields
- Preview sample data (where available)
- Finalize the data source connection
With the side drawer open (automatically appears when you select an App from the template library) Click on the icon in the Create an app with data section,
This will open a further panel...
This initial panel defaults to a file upload
First step is to name your data source connection
If the file upload option is NOT the connection type you require either click on the and arrows to cycle through the available connections or click on See all connectors to see a listing of all available connections.
- Click on the connection type you require.
The panel will update with the specific requirements for that connector type. See below for links to these details)
Once complete the panel will display a sample of data for your review.
- Click CREATE when you are happy you have the correct data to finalize the data source
The newly created data source will appear in the right hand side bar ready for use.
- Click on SELECT for the new data source to configure your selected App.
